Steven Schwartz's Credentials
Steven B. Schwartz, CFS, D.M.D., CLTC, began his financial practice in 1997 after a long and arduous college career involving an AAS from Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY; a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Florida; a Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of Central Florida; and a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
While practicing dentistry, Steve started to consult with other professionals on business and financial matters. Deciding that he would prefer to help people reach their goals and financial independence, he decided to join the MetLife team because of their training and support structure. His office’s team approach enables him to make the most efficient and effective recommendations to assist his clientele in achieving their goals.
A Senior Financial Planner committed to building long-term relationships, Steve’s number one priority is to assist his clientele with reaching their goals. Drawing on his knowledge, know-how, experience, and world-class planning tools, he helps his clients build and experience financial freedom.
Steve has been awarded the CFS (Certified Fund Specialist) designation by the Institute of Business & Finance. This designation is conferred upon candidates who complete a one-year educational program and pass a comprehensive examination. The CFS program allows qualified advisors to consult their clients on the advisability and costs of acquiring or retaining mutual funds in their investment portfolios.
In addition, he earned the CLTC (Certified in Long Term Care) designation from the Corporation for Long Term Care Certification Corporation – which is the industry’s only third party professional designation. The quality of the program is evidenced by the granting of continuing education credits by all states. This education has provided Steve with the necessary tools to solve his clients’ long term care needs that result from living a long life.
As a MetDESK® Specialist with MetLife’s Division of Estate Planning for Special Kids, Steve assists families in planning for the financial future of their children or other dependents with special needs. MetDESK® was established in 1998 to extend MetLife’s traditional commitment of public service to families with children of all ages, from infant to senior, with all disabilities. He is committed to helping families through the maze of legal and financial complexities surrounding planning for the future of children and other dependents with special needs. This requires in depth knowledge of the federal laws as they pertain to government benefit eligibility, legal documents such as special needs trusts and guardianships, as well as financial considerations for providing not just lifetime care, but quality of life.
Steve is also a MetLife Presidents Conference Qualifier and qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).
As a responsive and active member in his community, Steve routinely donates his time and finances to worthy causes in the special needs community, such as the ARC of King County, United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), The Friendship Circle and other projects year round.
Steve and his wife, Peggy, reside on Mercer Island, Washington, with their three children. When not serving his clientele or the community, he enjoys watching his sons participate in the Mercer Island Lacrosse Club and plays as many golf courses as his spare time allows.
